Eva Oltiványi

Language Coach

for opera & classical singers

I can help you with your French and German pronunciation and diction

I am a versatile Swiss-Belgian singer with international stage and concert experience. My passion for languages and many years of singing experience give me a deep understanding of the challenges singers experience when singing in French or German. We will work on your French and German repertoire, focusing on your pronunciation and the specific features of the language.

Who is my language coaching for?

Start feeling comfortable singing in French and German

With the phonetic alphabet and my diverse experience, I can help aspiring and professional singers master the correct pronunciation of the languages and the proper expression related to the meaning of the text.

I will help you develop awareness of where and how to produce the specific sounds of the foreign tongues.

Bio

Growing up in Zurich in a multilingual family, I studied singing at the Zurich Conservatory, graduated with teaching and concert diplomas, and completed training at the Opera Studio in Biel and the European Opera Centre in Manchester. My passion for languages led me to study French and English at university, but I then prioritised music. In the course of my singing career, I have sung countless concerts, from early to contemporary, and have appeared on the opera stage. Teaching has always been a central part of my career. Among other things, I worked as a guest professor for singing at the Antwerp Conservatory for 5 years. Now, I teach privately, helping singers with their music pronunciation and diction.

“I was lucky enough to work with Eva on a production of Romeo and Juliet at La Scala, and her work on the diction of French with singers of all nationalities was remarkable, lending a high quality to the whole. Eva is also a wonderful colleague who, on several occasions, organised meetings outside the work setting, which brought the whole team together and created a wonderful and unforgettable atmosphere.”
